"special person day"

Just a comment while planning your special day. Not all kids have a local grandparent to bring. So our school changed it to "Special Person Day" to include any special relative, neighbor or friend and it can be on any date. Some kids get quite upset if they do not have a special person there. So I try to talk about it ahead of time, let them bring a photo, or special momento, but I have found that it cannot be ignored.
