Very Hungry 2nd Grader
By Kimberly

Clip to ScrapBook
I punch holes in the bottom of an unopened brown paper sack. The sack is drawn on sideways. I assign each child a day of the week and a number to go with the pattern of the book. We talk about how we have to draw large
enough to punch a hole in the food that the very hungry 2nd grader ate through. The students illustrate one side of the sack. Then I give them a notecard to write their portion of the story on. You slip the notecard inside the still unopened bag. When you read the finished story, you look at the illustration and predict what the 2nd grader ate. Then you pull out the card to read it.
I decorated the front cover and at the end of the book, the kids signed a sack with all of their names and the date. To attach the book together, I just used yarn. Have fun!
