fact/opinion
By Opal

Clip to ScrapBook
Bring in tabloid papers, preferrably without Sex being in bold print. Many students recognize these reading materials because they know someone who reads them. Using various magazines could also work. Use newspapers and textbooks as your factual items and tabloids and magazines as your possible opinion items. (newspapers also have that great opinion page right in the middle of all that news worthy facts and figures.) Show examples of each and then as a homework assignment have students bring in examples of fact and opinion.
