center ideas

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm in the same boat you are. I am a new fourth grade teacher. What I did is I bought the Mailbox learning centers book for 4-6th grade. I also want to buy the file folder games book for 4-6th graders put out by Carson Dellosa but have trouble ordering it. Anyway, I photocopy the centers out of the books and glue them onto file folders (and whatever materials are needed e.g. dice, etc). Then I give each student a list of all of the centers and they are responsible for completing five each week until they complete all of them. They will do them in their free time when they have finished their work. Like I said, I'm just testing out centers myself. I'll let you know how it goes. Good luck.
