Before you actually have the kids use a graphing software program, (F. Shaffer's Graph Club is one possibility) be sure you let them go thru the discovery process of constructing their own ways to organize data, and when & why to use each...otherwise this becomes another procedural thing you've shown them to do, and many aren't able to interpret them when seen in a different format or context. ;-D
