Clip to ScrapBook
My first year of teaching was the first year the series was implemented and that was overwhelming! I started off with just "picking out" pieces that I wanted to use. That's the nice part about the series. There are so many ideas and projects that to use them all would be nearly impossible! I also found that you don't need to go in order with the units. For example, if you're teaching about animals/nature in science, then start with Nature Guides. It helps to tie it with something else. Tell your co-workers that we went through the same feelings and remind them to do the pieces they can! It has really encouraged more independent reading in our students. They get that "blip" in the series and then check out the book in the library!
