splitting schools

HI
In our district we have the following:
K - 4
5/6 school called an elementary
7/8 middle school
9 - 12 high school

Our parents just love the 5/6 school because these kids are often inbetween...in between
being little like the K -4 and older like the 7/8. It is a big success. Our 5/6 school is divided by teams of 3 teachers so the kids begin to rotate between teachers as they do in the higher grades. The schools were desined with two connecting classrooms with a special ed space (very large office or very small classroom) inbetween the classroom. The resource teacher comes to the kids
and works with them between rooms or in the room itself if possible. When not being used as a special ed room they allow kids to work in there in cooperative groups or if the student needs a quieter space to work. The third teacher is actually the specials team of art, pe, spanish, music, health or what ever.
