late finishers solution
By Martha

Clip to ScrapBook
This year in my 4th grade classroom I have established the last 20 minutes of the day as ROAR time. It stands or revise, organize, apply, and reflect. The students have a Work in Progress folder that always stays on their desk. Anytime they do not finish an in class assignment it goes in there. At the end of the day during ROAR time they go to this folder and work on these assignments. At the end of the week I go through each folder and those who have lots of unfinished work for the week then get the work to do for homework over the weekend with a note to the parents from me. As rule I do not give homework over weekends and the children know this unless they have not been keeping up with their in class work.
