Parent volunteers
By Marie

Clip to ScrapBook
At our school we have parent volunteers come in for lunch duty and that really helps a lot. Kids don't tend to act up as much if mom, dad, or their mom's friend is right there in the lunchroom. In our area we have a high poverty rate and very high unemployment rate so there are quite a few available adults to come in, many of them use the experience to get jobs as adult supervisors or other positions at our and other schools. You might try as a grade level sending notes home to parents asking for volunteers.
