    Harry Potter in the classroom

I totally agree with Dawn and Harry Potter Fan. Harry Potter is a great fictional character that is the same age as the students I teach. I am a CHRISTAIN with a very strong belief. I would never use a book to teach witch craft. The main point that everyone seems to be missing is that it gets children interested in reading again. Instead of watching tv, movies, or playing videos games they ACTUALLY WANT TO READ.

I am a huge fan of Harry Potter and how he over comes the situtations that Adults and other cildren get him into. How he over comes being poor, abused, and disfigured. How he makes friends and how they interact. How he over comes a bully and how he over comes evil with good. Yes he does break rules but then so do many adults. He does take his punishments and learns his lesson.
People need to actually look at all the horror movies that are produced and awful alternative music as well as books that are read. The movies and violence shown on tv are causing desenatized children not books. I will use the first book and I have for the past two years. I sent the two students out of my room whose parents didn't want them to hear or read it. I don't fight but I also don't hinder the possibility of getting my low readers and no interest readers siked about reading again. I am sending home a letter the first day of school explaining that I am going to read the book to the class and why I am. Then I will deal with the parents as the trouble may come. Just like Harry does in the books.
