The number one thing to remember is DON'T STRESS YOURSELF OUT. Last year I was hired in August as a second grade teacher, but I couldn't get to my school until the last week of August because they were doing work on the school
and nobody was able to go in. Then they scheduled new teacher orientation for the last week of August (everyday of that last week!!) Well, by time I actually got to my school, I was already stressing and then my principal tells me there was a mistake and I would be teaching fourth grade. So here I was with 2 half days (of course they had meetings planned for us too) and all the
second grade stuff that I had bought and I thought I would never finish. I did what I could and realized I didn't have to have EVERYTHING done by the first day. The students were happy and were none the wiser about the stress I was under that first day. Relax!!
