Math motivation
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Gail,
Get the new standards books by NCTM (National Council for Teachers of Mathematics)...If you join their organization, there is a wonderful magazine they publish monthly that has LOTS of authentic mathematics projects.
I'd also suggest, Cognitively Guided Instruction (also published by them) for how to set up authentic problems. And actually one of my favorite books on teaching mathematics that really changed my thinking is 'Living and Learning Mathematics'. It has an older publication date, but the classroom vignettes are awesome, and really give you motivation. So glad you have Trail blazers,
at least there are many problem solving possibilities included there. If you have specific questions you'd like addressed, please post or email... ;-D
