Late finishers

Clip to ScrapBook
I had several students who did this every day. I finally started having them miss fun stuff. Centers were only for those who finished their seat work, work not done by the appointed time after help had been given was taken out to recess to be done before any play. (I took that step as a last resort) It had become kind of a social thing for these particular students, it wasn't because they couldn't do the work, they just chose to daydream or talk instead. Before I tried the above I had been letting them take the unfinished work home for homework. It turned out several of them really liked that method of getting mom's attention every night so I had to get creative. Best Wishes.
