what state?

If you are in California, check out CalTeach (you can search for the site, or go to the state's ed. dept. site). If you are not in this state, contact your state's dept. of ed. and find out what kind of programs are available.

I tell you this because I came to teaching after nursing. I could have been paid to teach while still taking credential classes (basically getting paid to student teach!). I didn't know that, but now that I'm teaching, a few other teachers have joined our staff that way.

you are coming in a good time because there is a demand for teachers right now. Just don't be fooled.

with every job there are good points and bad points. Teachers frequently take public beatings by the media, parents and government officials. There is a lot of stress, but at the end of the day, there is usually a great sense of satisfaction!

GOOD LUCK!
