a research project in the spring---kids select a famous artist and write a report on him/her (along with several lessons on artists and many art lessons).
i walk through the steps and model for them, so before they do internet research, i spend a day showing them for an artist no one has chosen (and then i get to learn about someone new!) then i walk them through how to take all the necessary biblio info, etc.
