cooperative groups
By Therese

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach 5th grade and in the beginning of the year I build community by doing inclusion activities from the book called TRIBES by Jeanne Gibbs. There is training that you can take but the book is so user friendly that you can pick it up and use it. This helps to do learning within cooperative groups. It is less stress on you and puts the learning responsibility on the students. A great source for cooperative learning activities that you can use right from the book to your classroom is Kagan Cooperative learning. You can visit there website and print some handouts and you can order their book. My kids love these activites and it keeps them challenged and on task. The website is www.KaganOnline.com I have had such success with this and the kids love it.
