Guided Reading works

My elementary buiding has been very successful with guided reading. It is very much structured like ability grouping. Within two classes of 50 kids we have approximately 10 groups of kids reading on their level. We administer running records on a regular basis and students move up and out to the next reading level. In our school kids have made tremendous growth in reading using this model.
