Cursive

Our school starts cursive in 3rd grade. They are not made to use it all the time in 3rd. For the most part, I don't believe the previous 4th grade teacher made them write in cursive either. We have a new 4th grade teacher this year and I'm not sure what she's doing yet. In 5th grade I require my students to do almost everything in cursive. They need the practice if it's ever going to improve. I have some this year whose cursive writing is horrible. I'm starting with the basics and going over all letter formations with them. We're doing 1 a day for morning work. Hopefully this will help.
