Student teacher
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Christie,
I put together a small welcome goodie bag, with a card and poem. (I can send it to you, if you'd like). I invited her to all the pre school stuff, meetings, inservices, etc. and team planning.
As
I'm teaching and she's observing, I share what's working and what needs modifications (and how I can tell) so she can be watching the kids more closely and knows what to look for. Rather than telling her what went well and what didn't on her lesson, I ask her to tell me how she felt about it; then I have her choose one goal to work on for the next lesson.
I asked her to buy a file box
and hanging folders to collect all the 'stuff' she's gathering throughout the semester. Some teachers find a private spot somewhere in the room just for the ST's own area to work (could be a student desk raised a bit).
Feel free to post or email if you have questions...you'll learn lots having a student teacher too!!! ;-D
