Smile!

Do smile and show that you are happy to be a teacher! I agree with the teacher who said to work hard the first couple of weeks of school basically training your students to behave the way you would like for them to in a variety of situations. I was also told not to smile til December, but I really took that to mean that I should start out firm then later I could loosen up if I felt inclined to do so. It is always harder to decided you need to be more firm than it is to relax later and decide to give a little more. Good Luck!
