Literacy blocks
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Jan,
On the literacy blocks, if you're K-2, I'd get 'Guided Reading', 'Word Matters' (Fountas and Pinnell), and 'Interactive Writing' (McCarrier and Pinnell) all published by Heinemann. Start with GW...For 3-6th GL, (also 2nd depending upon what literacy experiences they've had as first graders) try Guiding Readers and Writers GL 3-6. Another title for a wider span and a bit different snapshot of literacy is 'Conversations' by Routman, also published by Heinemann.
If you are looking for specifics in a certain literacy component, such as literature conversations, just post or email again... Best of luck. ;-D
