The only time we would have an assistant (EA) is for a special needs child. Last year my grade 7 was 30 with 3-4 special ed students coming in for math and a few other subjects (no extra support). I've seen classes of up to 40 in our area for gr 7-8, though typically they will have about 30-33. It's such a shame because your major focus is definitely discipline and those in-the-middle or even gifted kids get left on their own while you are caught up with the bad ones.My friend's kindergarten has 28, grade one has 29.
