    Punch Cards

    To whomever shared "Punch Cards":

Many, many, many thanks!!! I started using punch cards at the beginning of the year with my fifth graders.

I set up some areas they could earn punches: completed math work, quizzes, etc., and then we collaborated on which activities they could trade the cards in: free homework pass, free quiz, spelling test, etc.

Once some completed their first card and realized the possibilities, they all got on the bandwagon! I have not had even one problem with kids getting their work in! Because they get punch cards for quizzes and tests, I have kids busting their buns to get great grades on regular quizzes/test that they would normally not bother to study for.

I even have kids who are "banking" their completed punch cards for future use. It's been a great lesson for looking ahead and planning. One is even banking them so that she won't have to do math assignments at the end of the school year!!LOL

This is, by far, the most positive and successful management program I've tried in a LONG time and so easy to implement and manage.

Again - my heartfelt thanks!!!!! What an AWESOME idea!
