teaching decimals

I also teach 5th grade math and decimals are difficult for kids understand. They best way I relate it to is always money. They know money and can seem to understand then why we don't have a oneths place and why it is the tenths place for a dime. You almost need to keep reviewing all year the place names for them to get it set in their heads.
