potty breaks

I teach a first grade class. I let my students go to the bathroom ANY time they ask EXCEPT during our DEAR Time. However, if it is an emergency, I will let them go. I have 3 children. As a mother, there better not be ANY teacher tell my child they are not allowed to go the bathroom. I would hit the roof!! Not only is it unhealthy to not go the bathroom, why should they have to wait an hour or so. My kids develop urinary conditions quickly as do other kids. AS a teacher, I can't do something different that I would expect a teacher to do for my own children. By the way, my kids are 12, 15, and 16.
