oobleck
By Julianne

Clip to ScrapBook
The stuff we've used is simple to make. Mix water with corn starch until it makes a thick, nearly impossible to stir, mixture. You can add food coloring to make it an interesting color.

Some things to do with oobleck:

hide coins or animals in it for a treasure hunt
make different colors and let students mix them
try cookie cutters
let students experiment with more or less water in the mixture
add salt, flour, corn meal, or anything else you can think of to change the texture
