Where is your mentor ?

Rox, I am so sorry to hear of your horrible start w/first grade. I was lucky enough to be assigned a mentor teacher who was responsible for giving me an overview of what was expected of me. (Routine, procedures, grading, schedules and etc.) It sounds like your district does not do this. I would go directly to my school principal and very nicely explain how you feel. Ask that she assign a veteran teacher to you that you could talk to and ask questions when needed. As far as the other teachers go, try not to let them get to you. They too are just starting the year and perhaps they need to get to know you better not that that is an excuse for their poor behavior. Don't give up, prove to them you have what it takes.
