seating
By Claire

Clip to ScrapBook
I came up with what I thought was a good seating chart last year. I put half of the desks on one side and the other half on the other side and had my kids facing each other.
I liked it, my kids liked it, other teachers
even commented on the different approach and liked it, the only person who didn't like it was my principal and he told me so in no uncertain terms. I quickly changed it, because I was a first year teacher, to please him. I didn't like the same ole traditional seating and neither did my students, but I did what I had to. (another new teacher liked it so well she did her room that way
and he said nothing, but that's another story). Another way I've seen done is in a horseshoe shaped. I liked that too.
Check with other teachers, see if there is a set standard to arrange a room then play around with different ideas. Find one that suits your style.
