looping
By srw

Clip to ScrapBook
With "looping" you teach the same students two years in a row. When they move up (for example from 4th to 5th), you move up too. Typically after the second year, you start again with a new class. It has been noted that students in a looping classroom transition much better because they don't have to spend time getting to know a new teacher's expectations and start new relationships with classmates.
