A parent from my room who is a teacher did this in my class 5 yrs ago when I had her daughter. I have done it ever since modified to fit my budget/energy etc. I get a 2 inch binder ring. I get the big foam hearts from Walmart. I attatch 2 sticky smaller hearts to the right corner. I go around the perimeter with a sharpie in dashes so it looks like a stitch. hole punch the heart put it on the ring. Write their name in the center with a sharpie. Have the children hole punch their cards at home. In school they put the cards on the ring they are so cute. easy to carry, no work for parents. It can even be the craft at the room party if needed. The parent who did it for my room had painted wooden shapes from Michaels. She put a label on the back with room number year etc. I love it. As a parent who is making the box for my son / with my son. UGH! Hope it makes sense.
