The low NY salary quoted is for New York City. the NY suburbs like Nassau County pay a lot more but, of course, there are few openings there.I am an experienced teacher who had to change jobs. I was amazed that no one wanted to pay me for more than 10 years of experience even though I have bee teaching for 20 years!
