Ditto!

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Rox:

Every suggestion that has been made so far, I say:
DITTO! My suggestion is to print out their suggestions and follow them!!!!

Cathy-Dee had come to my call for help about a year ago. She gave me excellent
advice. I attempted to follow it, but I got caught up in the negative aspects of the job too much ----and-----well, quit. I can't tell you how much I regret it.

I would like to add one suggestion that hasn't been mentioned. Get a notebook of some kind, fancy or otherwise, and note each day what good things happened. This will help you acknowledge the positives. So often, we tend

to focus on what we perceive as wrong.

You might think you do not have time to note the positives. But think about how much time you burn thinking about the negatives! Try it for a few weeks and experience the results. At first, it might be frustrating, but force yourself to do it. It gets easier. (No, I didn't do this while teaching; I thought I didn't have time. However, I do it now; it has helped me adjust my attitude and safe my sanity.)

If you ever contemplate quitting, PLEASE e-mail me first. I will tell you, in detail, how it feels to quit. You think you are miserable now; well, you haven't experienced real misery until you walk away from your classroom. (Before I walked, I got my good friend to take over my class; but that didn't alleviate all the emotions I have lived with since then.)

Again, if you ever consider quitting, do yourself a big favor and e-mail me.

Hang in there and follow their adivce. Come back to the board as needed. They are here to help!
You will be so happy that you hung in there.
Remember, when the going gets tough, what do the tough do? (Get going). I think that is the correct adage.

Sincerely, G.M
