I teach special ed and I also did my Master's thesis on spelling. I found a program that I love and my students love it too. They think spelling is easy and love spelling. It is called SRA Mastery Spelling. It comes grades 1 - 5 at least. I only use 1 - 4. It comes with placement tests and is very teacher directed. If you use this program you must teach spelling daily. You can't send your students to their desk to do page 5 because it is all teacher directed. The program is geard towards success and the kids are successful using it. Check it out!
