jobs and rules for 5th grade

My students spend the morning of the 2nd day in copperative teams forming our classroom rules. We do a lot of discussion, team comparisons, pro/cons for each, and narrow our lists down to 5 we all agree on for our "family" for the year. I also have jobs for the students - 15 so half the class has a job every other week. Works well and they like the responsilibity for the most part!
