first day books By Becky

Kevin Henkes has a lot of great books to use for read alouds.
Wemberley Worried is his latest one. Wemberley worries about everything and then she is faced with her first day of school. It's a great book about first day fears.
Chrysanthemum is also excellent. I do a how many letters are there in your name graph.
I also love Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. That book could start some "listening to what the teacher says" talks.
I always do a Kevin Henkes author study the first couple of weeks.
