Experiments about matter By snickydog
|
| When we return from winter break, my first graders do a unit on matter (three states, states can change with temperature, air has mass and volume, etc.). Does anyone have good experiments that have to do with matter?
One I do is tape a blown-up balloon on one end of a meter stick and an empty balloon on the other. The kids predict which end will weigh more and tend to think it's the same. When you put your finger in the middle of the stick, they see the blown up balloon has more mass and can determine that air has mass.
