You are very thoughtful to help this new teacher and she isn't even on your team. I like the idea of just dropping in when you can to offer help will mean so much to her. Academically, you may not be able to do too much, but just offering a smile and friendship will go a long way. You may be able to team your classes up to be reading or writing buddies. I have done that before and the kids like it. For a low student in 5th grader be the helper instead of one who always is getting the help will mean so much to him/her. Good luck! :D
