My class adores all the Don King Smith books. Most of them forced their parents to go get them! From him I read Martin's Mice, A Mouse Called Wolf, and Harriet's Hare.I also read James and the Giant Peach (and we tracked the chapters with a group summary on peaches around the room!) After reading the original Boxcar CHildren, which was one of my faves, some parents told me their kids would play the Boxcar children in the backyard!I try not to read books they might read during guided reading or their bookclubs, but that is just me!Lori
