You absolutely need to get the book, Guiding Readers and Writers GL 3-6 by Fountas and Pinnell. The publisher is Heinemann. It will answer your questions on how to fit it all in, as well as giving you wonderful and purposeful lessons, a huge list of leveled books (most are trade books), forms to help with organization and keeping track of everything, as well as how to fit 'test taking strategies' into the day...One of the BEST books to be published for intermediate grades, although this framework is doable with younger and older grade levels with adaptations.
