I teach at a Christian school. I use the second grade level phonics and THE SHURLEY METHOD to teach the whole class. As for math, I have combined both curriculums. It doesn't hurt the seconds to review and some firsts will learn second grade concepts. Reading groups are seperated according to grade. The same for seatwork. History, Health, Science could be looped. I have been using one day a week to cover these subjects during reading group. Good luck! Hope this helps.
