Dear KRT,

Both my mentor teacher and I have been getting our students ready for fifth grade by setting up binders on the first day of school. Another thing we do is cover our books. This takes a great part of the first
day, but then you don't have to worry about the books until the end of the year. As far as organization with papers, we ask our students to hand their papers in right after the first bell which is at 8:00 A.M. After collecting papers from the night befores homework we then pass back the corrected papers from the previous day. They are labled by subject--The students do that every day
(Name, Date, Subject)--then they know what area to put them in in their binder. If they don't have an assignment to hand in from the previous day they miss out on P.E., Music, Library, or Computer time to finish their assignments. This helps all of us stay organized. Hope this helps (o:
