One way to avoid public posting By Joell

What I have found useful is to give the students colors to keep at their desks (red, yellow and green circles to represent the lights would be fine.) On each circle I have the student's number (you can use names if you want, but I have a highly transient class and get tired of making up new circles all the time.) When a child misbehaves, they get the circle from their desk and place it in a basket on mine. That way it is more private, but it's also difficult for a child to switch it back. It also makes it easy for me to note down behavior at the end of the day--I just list what color each student had to give me and then place the circle back on their desk so they can start again the next day.I hope this made sense and is useful to you.
