I teach elementary art and have gotten a lot of ideas from a book called Story Stretchers for the Primary Grades by Shirley Raines and Robert Canady. I found it in my local library. The book offers art, music, etc. ideas based on popular children's literature. You will probably have most of the books in your library! I do many literature based lessons in the art room
especially with the lower grades. You may also want to visit kinderart.com for some great ideas. Good Luck!!
