ability grouping in reading
By Diane

Clip to ScrapBook
I also teach the low group and I love it. I think in homeroom, they act out a lot because they think they are not as "smart" as the others, but in my reading class, they feel normal. There is a lot of success, and we can build on their successes. I read to them every day for enjoyment. They probaby didn't get a lot of that earlier in their lives. We play reading games because basically, they are missing phonics, decoding skills. I also love it because it is smaller than the other classes. I have 10! Some are terrors in their homerooms, but so far, so good.
