Hi, Kim-
Depends how organized you are-do you have time to check the names on the check list?What gr. do you teach?
If you keep at it until the end of the year, it will work especially collecting the sheets with the
req'd signature-that's a big tracking job.Then what? If they forget,do you do the paper track and then call home?
For gr.2, a visual stoplight at the front of the room, by my desk is a great idea. It's a reminder for me and the student .With gr. 2 it's faster-doesn't disrupt too much-less said sometimes is better. Also, moving their name pin back to the green area is a motivatorr,

too. Give them a practice time first - first few weeks in Sept. Discuss it with them, too-is it working? why? etc. Yes, I will reward at theend of the month with $ store items . Before that I will make a point to reward the whole class with something .
It works. Remember keep it simple .
