The "Write" Stuff

Your centers may be thematic and can be decorated with pictures or words that promote thought on a specific theme. The decor may also serve as writing prompts.

An additional idea would be to set up the centers to reflect the style of writing you want. A narrative may be composed in an area decorated with a collection of the students' favorite items.
A descriptive paper may be plastered with collage exotic pictures and descriptive words.
