I received $200 at the end of last year to buy any instructional materials I wanted: math manipulatives, that sort of thing. At the beginning of this year, I was given $200 to buy classroom supplies: pens, paper, etc. It is the state that provides each teacher with the $200 start-up money. I think the other $200 came from the district.
