Time to think
By Melanie Scheuerman

Clip to ScrapBook
I also agree that the "time to think" area should not be used as a punishment. We need to teach children how to self-regulate their own behaviour. My students know that if they are feeling angry, sad, or mad about something, and they feel they might "blow-up," they can just go to the time to think area and cool off. It prevents a lot of behaviour problems in my classroom. And I think that this is a valuable skill to carry with them into adulthood. If only some adults took some time to cool off and think rationally before reacting to an uncomfortable situation!!
