You didn't do anything wrong. You weren't the one who cheated. When you are in charge of a large group of students it is impossible to be aware of every little thing that is happening--especially when you're a beginning teacher. Take this as a learning experience--I doubt it will ever happen again since you're now aware this could be a problem.

I don't think other teachers would get angry at you for such a thing--it was the student(s) who did the wrong thing.
