While it can be a pain for you and some extra work, hand out monthly book club forms for your kids to order from (Troll, Arrow, Scholastic, etc). As the kids and parents buy books through the club, you gain points redeemable for books for your classroom. I was amazed how fast they added up last year and definitely supplemented my "skinny" classroom library last year.
